7 Random Things

I was tagged by Dawn ~The Feathered Nest~ (http://the-feathered-nest.blogspot.com/) to name 7 random things about me. Here goes:

  1. My favorite color is ruby/candy apple red. I pick things out without even realizing it's because they are this color. My husband will say, "Well, of course, that's the one you want - it's ruby red!!"

  2. I have cut my own hair for about 10 years now. I cut my family's hair when they ask me to. (I don't want them to ever think they HAVE to settle for mom's haircuts! LOL)

  3. I'm always in search of the "perfect" purse, organizationally speaking. I hardly ever buy them - I just look at purses whenever I pass them in the store. I usually buy a black one whenever I do purchase a new one. I guess I figure black blends with everything!?!

  4. I like to collect things, but when my space gets too full, I'm a big purger. My kids still talk about the BIG purge of Summer 2000! LOL

  5. I've been known to be searching the house for a pair of reading glasses, while wearing a pair (or two) on my head.

  6. I love roses, but I have a brown thumb - I can look at a plant and kill it.

  7. I love to sew, but I am not a good cook. When hubby and I were dating I actually told him, "If you want a good cook, marry my sister. I can repair clothes, but I'll probably never be a great cook!" In conjunction with this thought - when we were first married, we burned things so often, my sister (http://deputydomain.blogspot.com/) made us a cross stitched wall plaque that says, "Dinner will be served when the smoke alarm goes off!" The plaque still hangs in the kitchen, and hubby set the smoke alarm off again just the other night!! This house has six smoke alarms, and before we could get doors and windows open, four of them were shrieking! The babies (dog and cat) and I escaped to the yard, while Dave dealt with smoke and noise. They were CRAZED by the time it stopped!!!

Never a dull moment! Even without the kids!!LOL

And for a Bonus random thought, this one is about Kissy Belle. She has never chewed on any of our shoes, but she LOVES to play with her toys in our shoes. When she was a baby, we were always calling her away from the shoes, until we realized she just likes to be near them. (She also loves socks, the stinkier the better!!! Socks we take away from her, they are stinky after all, so she can be quite a stealth thief - grabbing quickly and then DASHING!!)

Dave trying to get her to look at the camera for me, but she was thinking "cookies" (doggie treats). I'll try to add a picture of Redford the kitty in my next post. (Also, she has beautiful brown eyes, but they always show up green in pictures. The "red eye" camera feautre won't fix green - I suppose it's because green is what they add to fix the red - so ANY picture you see of her, please know that her brown eyes are one of her prettiest features!!)

I think maybe because of the heat and strong sun, roses are just very hard to grow in your part of the country. The ones we have now are gorgeous ... and I do *nothing* special for them. It's kind of disheartening when I know how much effort I put into our roses in Brandon - for zippo results!

I can't believe you still have that cross-stitch ~ lol. And you are not a bad cook! You have some wonderful recipes that I love to use. And Dave makes one mean spaghetti. ;o) [I bet he was making some awesome 4-Alarm Chili the other night. *hee*hee* *snort* Okay, sorry that was that jodi-dave humor.]

Hey ~ I haven't seen Kissy Belle in a while. She looks *so* much like Whitty. His back is more salt and pepper, but I think their adult markings came out quite the same. It's funny because they were so different as puppies.

Ok Jods, time to put up a Whitty picture! And, thanks for sticking up for my cooking. Our pastor told a joke the other day on his mom. He said, "She's such a bad cook - she sent a care package to Ethiopia - and they sent it back!! he he

you did very well with your cooking at Thanksgiving... you do very well with "your specialities"
and Dave does well with the rest...
and pots and pans were not meant to last forever... just because mine are 47 years old doesn't mean that everyone has to use them forever...
P.S. your http codes worked very well the way you did them...
you can still reach the other blog by simply clicking on it...
you are going to pass me right on by with your blogging!!

Whitty needs a haircut ~ a.g.a.i.n!! *sigh* It seems like someone around here always does.

If I think of it next time Whitty Bear is less bear-like ;op, I'll have him pose.
